Tomorrow.Never.Dies + The Future is Forever
Tomorrow.Never.Dies + Future is Forever
New works included in solo exhibitions at BUS Projects and SEVENTH Gallery
These works involve balsa wood text and levitating forms housing the artists' own tissue cultured skin cells, and explore ideas of biological metamorphosis and alchemical transformation.
The work and title take it's premise from a contemporary global engagement with new technology that places us eternally on the brink of the ‘future’. This idea preoccupies King’s ongoing practice, exploring the transformative potential of biological matter in humans and the wider environment. Over recent years her practice has examined tools of biological technologies, as a way to explore contemporary perspectives of the human body as a conceptually loaded, transformative, raw material.
